Nossa História

COMO INICIOU O MINISTÉRIO

Em maio de 2007 a Igreja de Deus estabeleceu oficialmente o Ministério de Língua Portuguesa aqui nos Estados Unidos. A criação deste ministério foi possível graças ao esforço unido da Superintendência da Igreja de Deus no Brasil, do Ministéro Hispano, de pastores da Igreja de Deus de fala portuguesa aqui nos Estados Unidos e do Comitê Executivo por meio do Supervisor Geral, Dr. Dennis McGuire.

Na ocasião foi nomeado um Supervisor para o Ministério, escolhido um Conselho representante dos Ministros e realizada a primeira convenção das Igrejas de Deus de Língua Portuguesa nos Estados Unidos. No dia 08 de dezembro de 2007 foi inaugurado o escritório do Ministério, marcando em definitivo um lugar, na Igreja de Deus nos Estados Unidos, para atender os pastores e as igrejas e coordenar as ações e projetos das igrejas que falam Português aqui.

Estamos com algumas igrejas atuando em diferentes áreas dos Estados Unidos e algumas células funcionando como base para a abertura definitiva de outras igrejas. Nossa visão é consolidar as igrejas já estabelecidas e iniciar outras em áreas onde o Senhor nos abrir as portas. Nossa principal necessidade no momento é preparar, motivar e enviar novos obreiros para abrirem igrejas nos pontos estratégicos onde existem grandes comunidades de fala portuguesa aqui nos Estados Unidos e Canadá.

Estamos trabalhando para oferecer um melhor atendimento para a comunidade de expressão portuguesa.

HOW THE MINISTRY BEGAN

In may 2007 the Church of God officially established the Portuguese-Speaking Ministry here in the United States. The creation of this ministry was made possible through the united efforts of the superintendency of the Church of God in Brazil, of the Hispanic Ministry, of the pastors of Portuguese-Speaking Churches in the United States, and of the Executive Committee by way of the General overseer, Dr. Dennis McGuire.

At that time a supervisor for the ministry was appointed, a Council representing the ministers was chosen, and the first convention of the Portuguese-Speaking Churches of God was held. On December 8, 2007, the office of the Ministry was inaugurated, providing a permanent place in the Church of God in the United States where pastors may come and where plans and projects of the Portuguese-Speaking Churches can be coordinated.

At the present time there are some Churches in different parts of the United States as well as some cell groups functioning, as bases from which other churches may be birthed. Our vision is to consolidate the existing churches and to establish others in areas where God will open the doors. Our main need in this moment is to prepare, to motivate, and to send the workers to start new churchs in strategic areas where portuguese-speaking communities are linving, in the United States and Canada.

We are working to serve better the community of Portuguese-Speaking people.
